Most electrical work requires a notification to the Electrical Safety Authority. We call this a notification of work. You must file this before or within 48 hours of starting electrical work.
This device keeps your electronics from getting damaged in a power surge, usually storm related, by redirecting unexpected increases in voltage away from delicate equipment. Even without a storm, smaller, less noticeable power spikes can shorten the life of your devices.
Do not substitute extension cords for permanent wiring. Do not run through walls, doorways, ceilings, or floors. If a cord is covered, heat cannot escape, which may result in a fire hazard. Do not use an extension cord for more than one appliance.
Aluminum wiring itself is safe, if properly connected and terminated without damaging the wire. Any devices used must be approved for use with aluminum wire.
Most fuse panels do not have enough space for fuses to handle the number of circuits required for today’s needs. A new circuit breaker panel can best fit current and future projects. A circuit breaker panel also allows for easier troubleshooting regarding one’s electrical system.
Per Ontario Electrical Code, all new circuits feeding receptacles must be Arc-fault protected, unless the receptacle is for a kitchen counter-top or bathroom. A new breaker panel helps make this process more efficient and cost-effective.
